I know it isnt capable of heavy clamping forces, but thats ok with me. you might post that it is for sale in the yahoo 618 group to help your chances of selling it. I also noticed this lathe has a key-less 3 finger chuck. TAKE GOOD PHOTOS and have it clean and shiny and you never know what it will bring on ebay. still it is cute, doesnt take up a lot of space, and might be great for model work or jewelers. The 618 is sort of a collectable in that the parts sell for way more than you can produce with it. An economy version of this lathe sold under the Craftsman brand and fitted with sleeve bearings has a spindle w/ a 1x8 TPI thread. the milling attachments are several hundred dollars, to fab the table at least 100, quick change and holders 100, MT collets 100, chuck 100, wood turning attach 75-100, speed control and dc motor 150-200, faceplate w/dogs 50-75, several chucks (on brass for electric motor centers (drawing a blenk),and then add shipping if you wanted to buy all us the cost of a very clean tight 618. mattthemuppet points out above that an Atlas 618 fitted w/ Timken bearings has a spindle with a 1x10 TPI thread for mounting a chuck. I have one that i may be selling that has the custom stand and dc control and lots of stuff that i would expect to get at least 900 for just because all the little parts total close to that if bought seperately. it was very unique in that it had a dc motor with speed control and it was painted the blue hammer finish. There was one other that comes to mind that sold for a high price but i cant remember how much.

It really didnt have all that much tooling with it, but was on a very clean custom metal stand and had very "stylish" belt gaurds.
